Intercostal Neuralgia

Intercostal neuralgia is a painful condition involving inflammation of the nerves that run parallel and between the ribs called the intercostal nerves. Symptoms may include pain that radiates from the back to the front of the rib cage, sharp pain anywhere along the course of the nerve and breathing that feels restricted. Patients familiar with the condition may report they "have a rib out".
